The rains may play havoc on many fronts but a true fasionista doesn’t let seasons get in his or her way of stepping out to party in style.

The fashion circuit, in fact, has been working overtime for the past few weeks... making appearances first for the jewellery week, then a fashion tour.

And now the focus is an upcoming bi-annual fashion fashion week in the city. Clearly, the dreaded Mumbai monsoons is just another excuse for the glam set to pick out a new wardrobe.

Designer Mandira Wirk who recently put up a show in the city says that there is something magical about Mumbai and monsoons.

“Of course, it can get scary but there is also a slight sense of adventure that one thrives on, at the same time,” says Mandira.

Designer Raakesh Agarwal who also showed at a city event a few days back offers a different perspective when he says that the fun is in dressing the part on a rainy day and stepping out to indulge yourself.

“Who says you can’t party if it’s raining? If you have an awesome outfit lying in your wardrobe, nothing can stop you,” he laughs adding, “The rains are like a fashionable touch to a fashion event. A lovely lady, dressed to the hilt with a touch of naturally dewy hair looks even more gorgeous.” We bet you didn’t think of it that way, did you now?

But designer Amalraj Sengupta, who is preparing for his show at the upcoming LFW says that the monsoons have the potential to wreck your day if you are not well prepared.

“Minimal and water proof make-up, an extra pair of clothes, footwear and a stylish grandfather umbrella should save you from most disasters,” says Amalraj.
