Inked, but naturally

Getting a henna tattoo done for a film role seems to be the latest fad. After actress Kangna Ranaut got herself a henna tattoo on her chest, superstar Shah Rukh Khan was seen sporting a prominent ‘D’ on his forearm for his upcoming film Don 2. And if you are wondering who’s that lady flaunting the name of a movie on her tummy across movie posters, then it’s actress Deepika Padukone who’s sporting the latest henna tattoo.

“No I have not got inked at all. This is a henna tattoo. I have to go and redo it every time I go to shoot. I wanted to do something different with Don 2 this time and I thought the tattoo is cool,” says Khan.

Padukone also thought it was a cool idea when director Rohan Sippy asked her to sport the name of his film on her tummy while she was shooting for an item number. “It was supposed to be a hot item number and Rohan instructed the choreographer to get something funky that would add to her looks. So we went ahead and got her a henna tattoo on her tummy,” says a source.

Ranaut sports the name of her ex-boyfriend (in her film) on her chest and has vowed to get a proper tattoo done when she meets her real boyfriend. “I had to get it re-touched to maintain the continuity,” says Ranaut.

Actors Akshay Kumar and Rishi Kapoor were also seen wearing a religious symbol on the back of their palms. “We decided to put a henna tattoo on everybody and it gave everybody a kind of an identification,” says a unit member of the film.
