In the death of evergreen star Dev Anand, Indian Cinema has lost a precious gem which can never be replaced by anyone, said Vijay Kalantri, President of All India Association of Industries.

"Dev Anand was a talented actor and director, he never looked back and believed in the future. His exuberance and zest for life always enthralled me," Kalantri said in a statement here today to condole the death of the Bollywood legend who passed away in London on Saturday night.

Dev Sahab always kept himself abreast of what was happening in the world. He had strong views on all issues and never hesitated to speak out. Because of his helpful attitude, Dev Anand was liked by all the members of the film industry, Kalantri said.

On the occasion of release of his latest film "Chargesheet" the legend had said "See my next movie which I am already working on".

He was a man who never stopped working and used to say "I will die with my boots on", Kalantri added.
