It is a known fact that Imran Khan is a foodie and that the actor makes it a point to try different cuisines each time he visits a new place. And of late, the actor is gung ho about and is indulging in just one cuisine. Imran, who is shooting in Rajkot, Gujrat for the first time, was very keen on trying the local dishes and apparently liked them so much that it has now become an integral part of his diet, during his stay there.

Sources close to the actor say that Imran was excited about his stay in Rajkot and had planned to go sight-seeing there as well. “Imran was required to go there for the shooting of his upcoming film, Vishal Bharadwaj’s Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. Usually his schedules don’t leave him with a lot of time to step out but he was genuinely excited about this place. In fact, Imran was most tempted when he saw the crew members have Gujrati dishes for breakfast and then even snacking on it through the day. He also indulged in it and couldn’t have enough of it,” says the source who was present on the sets.

Khandvi, dhokla, Gujarati khichdi with pickle comprised of the daily fare on the sets. He would also snack on local farsan,” says an onlooker.

Fulka roti, thepla and kheer were some of his favourites. He even recommends these dishes to his hard core non-vegetarian friends now,” says the source. The unit hand adds that Imran is actually a meat lover, but for a change, he relished most of the traditional dishes, which were primarily vegetarian. Imran too in the past admitted that he loves food and that he cooks whenever time permits. Maybe his wife Avantika can now expect some Gujarati dishes on the menu the next time Imran steps into the kitchen, right Imran?
