IIFA awards: Brett Lee’s Canadian nightmare!

Australian Cricketer Brett Lee was in for a rude shock when his entire luggage got lost in transit and he couldn’t find his suitcases at the luggage conveyor belt at the Pierson International airport in Toronto. The organisers have now decided to take him on a shopping spree to help him reorganise his wardrobe for the international film awards function that he is a part of. Lee is supposed to walk the ramp for designer Rajesh Pratap Singh at the IIFA.

“Lee informed us that he is stranded at the airport for about an hour and he cannot trace his luggage anywhere. We discovered that his luggage has not reached and the airline was trying to trace it. His suitcases might take two days to arrive,” says a source.

So, the organisers have decided to take him shopping and buy him clothes, accessories and toiletries. “We are taking him to shop and we have decided to foot the bill. We haven’t set up a budget for him so that he feels at home with us. Lee is happy with the way we have responded to the crisis,” the source adds. Lee, sources say, has already sent a mail to the airline authorities asking them to trace his bag as quickly as possible.

“Bipasha Basu will walk the ramp for Sabyasachi Mukherjee. We have Brett Lee as the show-stopper for Rajesh Pratap Singh along with actors Kunal Kapoor and Rahul Khanna,” says Sabbas Joseph, the director of the organising committee.

The show-stoppers for designer Vikram Phadnis is yet to be decided but Genelia D’ Souza might do the honours for him.
