I’d like to do a 'Dabangg': Chitrangda Singh

Chitrangda Singh is quite the excited actress. “The air is filled with anxiety and nervousness. Earlier, we were just busy trying to finish the film. Now, the anxiety doubles up since the film’s ready for release. But, what I’m happy with is the fact that we’ve a good film in hand, with strong content.”

Chitrangda awaits the release of her film Yeh Saali Zindagi, directed by Sudhir Mishra. “The fact that it is a Sudhir Mishra film is reassuring, because he’s one of the most sensible film-makers we have in our country. This film is a lot more entertaining and mainstream. It is about two love stories, which run parallel, and the danger put forth to the four characters when their lives meet,” explains the actress.

While Chitrangda has been away from the big screen for a while, she says she’s fortunate that she had enough endorsements and commercials coming her way. “Since I was paired with popular heroes in these commercials, it has worked in my favour, as people now see me as a potential commercial heroine,” says she.

She goes on to add, “And I couldn’t have had it more commercial than my next film, Desi Boyz, where I’m paired opposite Akshay Kumar. Since it is being made by Rohit Dhawan, David Dhawan’s son, it has all the more reasons to be a commercial pot-boiler. I still haven’t danced nor have I done anything typically Bollywood in my films. But, I am looking forward to this film as well as my other film being made by Goldie Behl co-starring John Abraham.”

Will we see her in a film like Dabangg then? “I’m not sure what I’m good at yet. I am just four films old. But I’m sure I wouldn’t mind doing a film like that. Unfortunately, a lot of my other projects were either shelved or delayed. I’m taking baby steps in this industry. I plan to check out what I can be good at and what I mustn’t do. I’m planning on taking it one film at a time,” signs off Chitrangda.
