‘I will be wearing a yellow Paithani’

Bride-to-be Rajshree Thakur talks about her wedding, honeymoon plans and getting back to work.

Friendship in college, which later developed into a serious relationship, will soon culminate into marriage for Rajshree Thakur ( Saloni of Zee’s ‘Saat Phere’) and Sanjyot Vaidya on February 7.

Courting Cupid

The couple is busy with preparations for this most significant day of their lives. “We were in the same drama group while in college. We were good friends then. But it was only a few years after graduation that he proposed to me. It’s been more than one and a half year now,” says Rajshree recounting those memories.

The twosome has done theatre while in college and has also worked together in a Marathi serial some time ago. “Sanjyot is very understanding and patient. He is the only man who can pacify me,” asserts Rajshree about her fiancée who is currently running a business.

Bridal business!

Being a Maharashtrain, Rajshree plans to wear a traditional yellow Paithani sari for the wedding. The girl, who has very often designed her own clothes, will be fullfiling her childhood dream by personally designing her ghaghra-choli for the reception.  “I don’t like readymade jewellery. My jeweller will be designing my wedding ornaments,” Rajshree adds.

Ask her if she is following any beauty regimen and she says, “I am staying at home and taking as much rest as possible. I am also avoiding sunlight. This adds a glow.”

Honeyed dreams

So, where will the newly wed couple head to for their honeymoon? “We won’t be going out of India. I like greenery, so we might go somewhere in the South, maybe Kerala or Sri Lanka.”

Life after…

Rajshree doesn’t seem to be sceptical about her freedom after marriage. “Sanjyot is very supportive. My in-laws like my work too. I am lucky that I have this kind of freedom,” she says. Travelling to the sets for Rajshree, who currently resides in Dahisar, will get easier after marriage as she will be shifting to Andheri.

Rajshree has no intentions of taking a break after marriage. “I am looking forward to acting in films once I finish ‘Saat Phere’. For me, the character is most important. I would love to work with Mani Ratnam and Ashutosh Gowarikar,” she asserts.
