Actor Mona Singh who made her movie debut with Raj Kumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots swears by the film. “I love the movie not because I am a part of it. It’s an extremely well made movie and something for which I would buy a movie ticket,” she says.
Like all die-hard romantic girls, she is a fan of the romantic comedy genre. “I am a girl; I love romantic comedy films and I have no hesitation in admitting it. I think romantic comedies are great feel-good films and after work when I am extremely exhausted, these give me the required fun to rejuvenate myself.
Grease with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John is one great musical I fondly remember,” she adds. And like every other girl, she avoids action films. “By action, I mean the Transporter or Transformer kind of films which do not have anything in the plot but just pure mindless action. I don’t think I would like to waste my time on this kind of bogus,” she asserts.
When asked about her all-time favourite, she quickly switches gear and mentions Quentin Tarantino’s cult classic Pulp Fiction. “It was such a fabulous movie and quite bold for its technique and storytelling. Critics and audiences around the world have loved this film and I would say the praise is just apt for such a groundbreaking work. And it’s great entertainment; I can always go back to this film whenever I am devoid of fun. I also love John Travolta in the film and no one beats the dance twist at Jack Rabbit Slim’s (a pub) in the film, it’s so much fun,” she ends.
