I knew the item number would backfire: Raveena Tandon

It was actress Raveena Tandon’s much-awaited item number in the film Bbuddhah Hoga Tera Baap and there was much hype about the song too. But when the film released the song was nowhere to be seen.

But, wasn’t it Raveena who’d said that she’s waiting to see the song on the big screen? Well, Raveena says it was a misunderstanding and that she knew that the song won’t be a part of the film from the start.

“When I learnt from the publicity team that I am supposed to talk about the song being in the film, I thought that Puri (Jagannath, the director) had changed his mind,” says Raveena. But apparently he didn’t. It was the publicity team which actually thought about tomtoming the song in the film.

“I decided to go with the flow and  said yes when anybody asked me if the song is in the film. But it was not the truth and it was not my fault... The publicity team was not briefed properly. After the announcements were made, I even told Puri that it is going to backfire on me. It did in some ways and that is exactly, why I decided to declare on Twitter a few days before the film’s release that the song is not there in the film,” she adds.

But she’s put it all behind now. A doting mother of two, Raveena says that her priorities remain her two kids — Ranbir and Rasha.

“They love cartoons and I’m a cartoon addict too. And yes, they dote on SpongeBob Square Pants!”
