I go where music takes me, says Manasi Scott

She has indeed made her mark on the pop scene, arresting folks with her scintillating live performances and she’s also explored playback singing.

Recently, Manasi Scott graduated to acting and now Bollywood’s on her plate. And what is commendable is the way she has been striking a balance and charting her way to success.

Scott who is currently working on her latest English album, is very excited about this project. “I am glad that I have finally started working on it. I have also written all the songs for this album which makes it very special,” she says. This she says is a “little exercise for the web”.

The videos will be available only on the net and another music channel. “Marketing a video on the internet is way easier and so less expensive as compared to a Hindi number,” she finds.
Her latest feat in playback singing was in a South Indian film where she sang a tamil number called Pattu Pattu.

Ask her why she is drifting towards regional cinema, and she replies, “I go where music takes me.”

Also, Scott just released her three videos from her Hindi album. “I chose not to bring them out in a album format because once you sell the rights to one music company the channels refuse to take it.” Hence she got three different sponsors for each.

Talking about her role in her latest movie where she plays John Abraham’s girlfriend, Manasi says that she was very let down by the final product. “I was very disappointed with how my role was cut down to half without me being informed about it,” points Scott.

“Not only this, the make-up too was horrible. I looked so hideous in the movie. Everyone who’s seen the movie has been telling me the same. I never got to know because I wasn’t allowed to look at the screen,” she adds.

Scott also is said to have shared cold vibes with the main lead of the film, Pakhi. “We are friends now,” she explains. “We were “both powerful women who were intimidated by the other one’s territory.”
