I get proposals from married men: Kangna Ranaut

Kangna makes some revelations about men, marriage and what else — the movies!

I get proposals from married men: Kangna Ranaut

If actress Kangna Ranaut seems in an upbeat mood these days, it’s all thanks to having her Bollywood kitty bulging with almost seven films this year. What makes it more special for her are that they are mostly comedies and action.

“Anything, but an intense drama is my mantra this year,” reveals Kangna. “The kind of roles that I was playing at 17 were taking a toll on me. They’d leave me feeling emotionally drained and feeling like 70. Forget as an actress, no girl would like that,” she laughs. “But now I’m glad to be doing films that allow me to be happy and feel closer to my age.”

She’s actually younger than most in the younger Bolly lot today, even though she is often pitched alongside much senior actresses.

But point that out to Kangna and she only waves it off, “Age is a sensitive issue in Bollywood, but I don’t want to get into that. I know that Bollywood actresses come with a short shelf life, even though there are a few exceptions, but I’m still far from worrying about all that,” she smiles.

The actress will also be seen going desi in her film Tannu weds Manu, something that she hasn’t done before. “I think Indian clothes make you look and definitely feel more feminine.” And sexy? “Yes sexy too! Though, I think being sexy is not so much about clothes as it is about attitude and confidence.” Surprisingly, the actress herself doesn’t think she’s hot or sexy. “Am I? I wish I had men telling me that,” she laughs.

And though one would expect her to have many men asking her out, she candidly admits. “I do get proposals, but most of them are from married men. And I’m never going that way ever.” As for single men approaching her… “Dating, I would consider, but love and marriage are not something I’m looking at, at all,” she says.

She also rules out the possibility of an arranged marriage. “I don’t see myself settling in with a guy without love. I know my parents would want to see me happily married with kids someday. I would like that too, but not for the next few years or till I don’t find the perfect man,” adds the Bollywood star.

And her idea of a perfect man? “Is still the same. It’s a myth!” says Kangna. “But I am waiting to be proven wrong for this once,” she smiles.
