I don’t want to be a hero but an entertainer: Mahaakshay

He debuted three years back, with a debacle called Jimmy and Mahaakshay aka Mimoh received flak from all quarters of the industry. However, his dancing skills were something that he was appreciated for and some even called him ‘disco-dancer’ junior. But post his debut, Mahakshay went into hiding and now he is back with Vikram Bhatt’s 3D horror.

Mahakshay is honest is about his debut and says, “I never thought that it will be a flat failure. I was juvenile and had no merit to be in the industry. And as a young boy I was very excited but Jimmy’s failure of was like a wake up call. I was worse than worst. Though I was upset and angry with myself, I decided to try again. First I started working on my body, then my looks and acting skills,” he accepts.

Many said that he got his latest film, thanks to dad Mithun Chakraborthy but Mahakshay refutes; “You think it took three years for my dad to realise that I need a movie? Of course not! And my dad isn’t the kind who will ever put in a word for me. He supports me but doesn’t go out of his way to help me. And I like it that way. Nothing can beat being Mithun’s son but I’m trying to make my name now.”

Mahakshay is honest about his future projects, “I won’t lie that I have many movies in hand or any such thing. But yes, I am reading a few scripts. Looking back I feel Jimmy’s failure was a blessing in disguise because had it been a hit, I wouldn’t have worked as hard as I have now. I’m being selective now and though I don’t mind multi-starrer  projects, my part has to have some element to it. I don’t want to be a hero, but an entertainer, busy in public service,” he says.
