I blame myself for falling sick: Sonam Kapoor

Diagnosed with a severe stomach ailment and low blood pressure, actress Sonam Kapoor has been advised not to get up from the bed for, at least, the next 10 days.

“I was feeling so sick that the flight from Dubai felt like I was taking a flight from the US. As soon as I  landed in Mumbai, my mom took me to the hospital immediately. They put me on an IV drip (saline) as I had stopped eating by then,” a feeble Kapoor revealed to DNA.

Apart from every project coming to a standstill due to her illness, Kapoor’s whole family is very worried about her not getting enough rest. “My dad and sister are constantly checking on me. I can’t walk around much because it causes to an increase in my heartbeats. I am so weak that I can’t even take a few steps properly,” she adds.

Kapoor blames herself for her sickness and says that her high threshold for pain and her inability to say ‘no’ to people has caused her to fall sick.

“It’s my fault. I can’t say ‘no’ to people and I have a very high threshold for pain. So even if I tell people that I am not feeling well, I am requested to shoot for one more day, and I do that because I can take it. But I was messing up with my system big time. I realised that but I kept on doing more and more and getting very less sleep. I was very sick six months back and the doctor had advised me to rest and having proper food at the all the right time but somehow I am guilty of not listening to him. It’s my fault and I have to be more careful about myself,” she adds.

In one scene of her new movie, where she is shown crying profusely, because she is about to leap to her death, Kapoor nam reveals that she was genuinely crying. “I had 104 degress of fever and I couldn’t eat a morsel. So those tears are genuine because I was feeling terribly under the weather. I am inundated with messages from friends and fans now and I have promised all of them (including her dad) that I will be careful about myself next time,” she ends.
