I am still young in the industry: Zayed Khan

Actor Zayed Khan prefers working with his close friends. So, when he decided to turn producer, actor and his close friend Dia Mirza was the first one he discussed the idea with.

“Dia and I are great friends. And it’s always fun to work with actors you are compatible with,” states Zayed. “We had been thinking of doing something together for quite a while now.” The actual work for the film will begin next month though,” says Zayed.

Elaborating on his production plans, he says, “I wanted to launch my production company with an action comedy.” While the actor was preparing to get the action comedy on reel, Dia convinced him to begin with a rom-com instead. “Rom-coms reflect the spice of life. They never fail to charm the audience,” he says. The film toplines Dia and Zayed and is primarily set in Mumbai, though it will also take the audience through Delhi and Chandigarh, he informs.

Ask him if he would consider doing television, and the actor says, “I’m not even close to doing television.” He feels that it is very important for one to have the right fit for presenting any particular show on TV. “I am still young in the industry. I have a lot to learn and a lot to explore,” says Zayed unassumingly.

“Yes, I have a carefree attitude. I cannot be pretentious,” he adds, as he talks about his journey and experiences in Bollywood.  “There are no permanent friends or enemies in this industry,” says Zayed who is also working on an adventure film at the moment.

Poke him on how has he taken on the role of a father and all he says is, “You have to keep changing acts.”
