JAIPUR: A lower court on Wednesday fixed the next hearing in connection with the case related to Ashutosh Gowarikar's film ''Akbar-Jodha' on January 5.

Gowarikar has shown Jodha Bai as wife of Mughal Emperor Akbar in the film, which has been vehemently protested by Rajputs inRajasthan. The Rajput Sabha, Jaipur, had filed a petition against the ''wrong depiction'' of history in the film in the court of Additional Civil Court (No.4).

Petitioners Narendra Singh Rajawat, president Rajput Sabha and advocate Sanjeev Arora have demanded a ban on the under-production film, saying it is distorting history and presenting historical characters in a wrong light.

Advocate Arora said judge Dinesh Chandra Gupta had asked director Gowarikar to file a reply on the reported distortion of history in his film. Gowarikar had asked for time to file his reply.

Advocate Arora said Gowarikar's reply was filed in the court on Thursday but as the court is but due to winter break, it fixed the hearing on Gowarikar's reply on January 5.
