Romantic movies are a favourite amongst all age groups. Cult Hollywood romantic movies like Gone with the Wind, Roman Holiday, Titanic, Harry met Sally to Bollywood classics like Pyaasa, Bobby, Mughal-e-Azam and of course Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge are impossible to be missed by any cinema lover.
Actor Sayali Bhagat is one such movie buff who has watched Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge many times over. She says if there is one movie that lifts her mood, it has to be DDLJ. She says, “I am huge fan of the movie, I must have seen that movie for around 50 times by now.”
Talking about the features she loves in the movie, she quickly replies, “I love everything about that movie, right from the outdoor locations of Switzerland, the sizzling chemistry between Shah Rukh and Kajol and the songs that are the best part in their love story.”
She reveals her adoration for Shah Rukh since she first saw the movie, “I have grown up admiring Shah Rukh in that movie and always dreamt that the man in my life would love me like this. My favourite song in the movie is Mere Khawbon Mein Jo Aaye and loved dancing on it like Kajol does. It’s been the biggest motivating factor for me to pursue my Bollywood career. There is so much of drama, emotion and of course, the action.”
One of Sayali’s biggest wishes is to work with Shah Rukh. She says, “I aspire to act with him in a romantic film like this at least once. I remember collecting money and watching it with my school.”
The movie is also associated with memories from her school days, “I remember I had done a group performance on Mehendi Lagake Rakhna for our annual day. The best of it was watching it in Maratha Mandir around two years ago,” she ends.
