Glam girls to display Maheep Kapoor’s jewellery

Actor Sanjay Kapoor’s wife, jewellery designer Maheep Sandhu, will have her debut show on October 10. Glam queens Kareena Kapoor and Malaika Arora and director Farah Khan will walk the ramp donning her precious creations.

Family connection helped Maheep rope in sister-in-law and mega star Sridevi to feature in an ad campaign for her collection. Maheep has collaborated with Notandas jewellers for this.

"It’s my first show and I am as excited as I could be," says Maheep, who started off doing small pieces for close friends.

Then Notandas jewellers approached her and bingo she is ready with her first show where 14 models will parade bejewelled on the ramp. Maheep urges, "Please do not publicise it unnecessarily. They are all my friends and are doing it as a personal favour to me. The idea of getting them to walk the ramp was because they are all achievers."

Maheep’s pieces are very contemporary and include diamonds. "So far I have not designed anything without them." Why? "Diamonds are forever and they are also a girl’s best friend!"
