Give me fame any day: 'Force' actor Ameet Gaur

The model-turned-actor is a hard nut to crack in his debut Bollywood outing.

Give me fame any day: 'Force' actor Ameet Gaur

He’s been a popular face in television commercials but it was the right opportunity that Ameet Gaur was waiting for. And when he was offered a role in Nishikant Kamat’s Force, he didn’t need to give it much thought.

“Producer Vipul Shah and Nishikant were looking to cast some for a cop’s role with John Abraham, and I was looking to progress from television. There couldn’t have been a better option and so well-timed. I did have to, of course, go through auditions before being signed on,” says Ameet.

Once on board, the young actor was determined to get his act right and for that, he spent a week in an anti-narcotic cell in Mumbai.

“I wanted to get the body language right and from filing reports to going to court to an interrogation or two — I went through it all,” Ameet says. While his role in Force requires him to fight the bad guys, Ameet is content with the sort of film that marks his foray in Bollywood.

“As a debutant, the genre doesn’t matter. What’s important is the way the film fares at the box office and how it shapes my career. I’m here for the long run and I must confess to being greedy for fame,” he states.

Of course, working with John Abraham was quite an experience.

“Co-incidentally, both of us have modelling backgrounds before moving to films. Frankly, I didn’t expect him to be as relaxed as he turned out to be,” informs Ameet.

The going has been far from easy for Ameet, what with the rigorous action sequences under the able guidance of Allan Amin. “Holding guns, firing, killing people — it had to be an everyday affair. Often I’d get hit by empty cartridges or fall over things, but it’s all been worth it,” he signs off.
