Giselli Monteiro voices her angst... on screen

The Brazilian import is dubbing her own lines in an upcoming film while TV actress Vibha Chibber is her voice coach.

Giselli Monteiro voices her angst... on screen

The last time actrress Giselli Monteiro made an appearance on the big screen, she only had to move her lips to make it look like she was mouthing the dialogues.

She just needed to sync her lips, smile and gyrate on screen while somebody else spoke on her behalf in the Saif Ali Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Love Aaj, Kal. This time, she says the scene is different.

The actress is apparently spreading word that nobody is dubbing for her in the forthcoming film that is produced by superstar Shah Rukh Khan. “Giselli’s voice is not being dubbed in the film. If we do that, it will be taking the credit away from her because she has put in a lot of hard work. She has also got a voice coach to help her get the accent right for the film,” says a close friend of the actor.

According to the friend, Monteiro has spent at least three hours every day for the last one year perfecting her diction. And director Roshan Abbas decided to hire a voice and accent coach for her and in came theatre and TV actor Vibha Chibber.

Roshan too confirmed that Vibha is the voice coach for Monteiro and that her actual voice will be retained in the film.

“Vibha is a voice coach, she helped Giselli with her diction! In fact, she (Giselli) has also crooned for a track in the film. Till the mix, it was a tough decision to use Giselli’s (whose awkwardness and shyness added something to the character) or another voice,” says Roshan who finally went with Monteiro’s original voice for the film.
