First time pairing

The film that will mark Chirag Paswan, son of politician Ram Vilas Paswan’s Bollywood debut opposite Kangna Ranaut just got another interesting jodi. Veteran actors Vinod Khanna and Poonam Dhillon will be paired opposite each other in One and Only, in actor-cum-producer Anuj Saxena’s next venture.

Anuj has managed a casting coup of sorts by pairing Vinod Khanna and Poonam Dhillon as Chirag’s parents. Both actors have never been cast opposite each other before this. Poonam had only done a guest appearance in a film titled Patthar Ke Insaan 20 years ago in which Vinod was paired opposite Sridevi.

DNA has learnt that Poonam always wanted to work with Vinod and that she is excited about this film.

Chirag was introduced to the industry and media through a party three years back. Poonam was one of Anuj’s guest at the party. Poonam was last seen in Dil Bole Hadipaa and Vinod Khanna was last seen in Wanted last year. One and Only, a romantic family film will be directed by Tanveer Khan while the music will be by Sajid-Wajid and lyrics by Javed Akthar.

Anuj, who has in the recent past produced Aloo Chaat (starring Aftab Aamna Shariff) and Chase (starring Anuj Saxena and Udita Goswami and was directed by Jag Mohan Mundhra), says, “Poonam and Vinod are fabulous actors and both suited the roles perfectly. They have powerful roles in the film. Poonam is a good friend and a good human being too.” The producer adds, “It was easy to convince the two. They have well defined roles and they loved the script.”

Ask him what’s so special about the debut film of Chirag and he shoots, “The fact that it’s the launch of Chirag who, like Riteish
Deshmukh, comes from a political family.”
