Fire on the sets of actor Aamir Khan’s debut TV show

The schedule of actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan’s upcoming TV show is likely to get disrupted, after a fire broke out on the sets of his yet-to-be-launched show on Monday night. According to reports, the entire set that was still under construction — located near Madh Island, Malad — has been burnt to ground, but luckily no one was hurt.
“It was an extremely unfortunate event. Due to some electrical fault, the set caught fire and within minutes spread across the sets,” reveals an insider. According to a source, very few people were around when the fire broke out. “Early evening the entire team had gone and done a recee and only about 20 people from the light and set department were wrapping light adjustments when the fire broke out. Luckily everyone was cleared and there were no casualties,” says the source.
Talking about the damage, a source says that the sets will have to be reconstructed from the scratch. “Right now it’s difficult to say whether or not it will cause any delays or for how long for the show to take off,” adds the insider.
A spokesperson of Aamir Khan’s production house said, “It has been extremely unfortunate incident. We only feel lucky and very relieved that no one was hurt. As soon as we will be allowed to inspect and take stock, is when we will be able to assess the damage and decide to what extent we would need to repair the sets.” But as of now, it’s hard to say if the accident will cause any delay in the show’s schedule.
The TV talk show — that’s being kept under tight wraps — is slated to start in the first half of the year and will mark the actor’s debut on the small screen. Apparently the much-talked about show deals with common issues and social causes related to the common man.
