Film to tell all about terror in 90 seconds!

Next time you go to see your favourite movie, you will be shown a very short film on what terrorists look like, how they operate and what to do during a terrorist attack.

A 90-second film on terrorists and their modus operandi has been planned by the city police for screening in movie theatres and even on TV.

Ahmedabad police commissioner Sudhir Sinha is yet to issue a circular regarding the film’s screening as the film has not been made yet.

The police intend to outsource the making of the film to a production house and it is expected to be ready soon.

Sinha told DNA that the film will mainly be about terrorists, their activities and what they may
look like.

“It will reveal what a terrorist may look like, what they do, their modus operandi and other important information. People should know about extremists and their style of functioning so that preventive action can be taken in time,” the police commissioner said.

He further said that the film will be shown in multiplexes, theatres, video theatres, by cable operators and even on TV channels. “The film will make people aware about the threat of terrorism and also tell them what to do during a terror attack,” he said.

Sources said that the police commissioner is expected to issue an order in this connection as soon as the film is ready.

“It will be made compulsory for the theatres and others to show the film,” a source in the
police said.

The police believe that greater awareness among the public about terrorists and sleeper cells is a must if the common man is to help the police in the fight against terrorism.

Members of the public can be of great help to the police by providing information about suspicious activities in their areas, the sources said.

Earlier, the Gandhinagar police had made a film on traffic awareness which was shown in schools but not released for screening in theatres and multiplexes.
