Easter brings out the child in me: Sarah Jane Dias

Today’s Easter and in true festive spirit, new kid-on-the-Bolly-block Sarah Jane Dias is looking forward to celebrating the day with friends and family, munching on Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies. “When it comes to celebrations, Easter is just as big as Christmas,” enthuses the actor. “Days like these bring out the child in us and I definitely am a kid when it comes to celebrating them.”

Recalling her earliest memories of celebrating the day, Dias says she’d be waiting for her dad to send her Easter goodies from Muscat. “Each year, dad would send us chocolate eggs in the lovely ‘red bus’ packages. And they looked so awesome that I would not want to eat them at all. They were gorgeous.”

But while last year around, it was Dias, the model who celebrated the day this year around it’s Sarah the Bollywood actress. Point this out and Sarah reveals that being an actor or model doesn’t change celebrations for her. “I don’t feel that Easter is all the more special just because I am now an actor and far more people recognise me at the mass. Of course I have more to thank God for now.  But what’s making this year special is because my mom’s with me today. We were not together the last time around and I missed her,” says the actor who’s set to don the apron to make some lip-smacking goodies with mum. “We’re preparing an elaborate lunch for family and friends,” she shares. 

Ask her if cricketer Virat Kohli, who she has been linked with recently is on the guest list and she maintains a stoic silence, saying that she’s not keen to talk about that aspect of her personal life.

What she does let on though is another secret. “Today all diet plans go for a toss and it’s going to be a huge binging session all day long.” Cupcakes are an all time favourite of the actor and she says that she “can’t wait to bite off the yummy bunnies as well.”
