Actor and director Kunaal Roy Kapoor will soon be seen in Aamir Khan’s next production — Delhi Belly

Did I replace Aamir Khan, asks Kunaal Roy Kapoor

Delhi Belly is ready and so is actor Kunaal Roy Kapoor. Incidentally, it was reported a while ago that he had replaced Aamir Khan but the actor doesn’t want to discuss that, or the film!

“I am really sorry but I will not be able to talk about the film at this stage because we have all been asked to stay tight-lipped. In fact, I’m still not sure about the film’s release date!” says the actor-director, whose directorial debut The President Is Coming had made news a while back.

Ask Kunaal how it felt filling in a position that was originally slated for Aamir and he says, “I am not sure if I’ve actually replaced Aamir, though there was some speculation that he would be doing the film. I know they were auditioning for the role; I had to go through four auditions too.”

Kunaal happens to be the second amongst three brothers, the eldest being Siddharth Roy Kapoor, CEO, UTV, and the youngest being VJ-turned-actor Aditya Roy Kapoor.

Sitting between two rather successful brothers, has there ever been any sibling rivalry? “No! We have one thing in common and that’s cinema. Whenever we are together, films top our discussion list,” he says.

The multi-faceted Kunaal has tried his hands at photography too, being an apprentice with Boman Irani for the longest time. Apart from that, he’s actively involved with theatre and his movie, The President Is Coming, which has been adapted into a play, was recently staged in Bangalore.
