'Delhi Belly': Allahabad HC seeks counter-affidavits from Aamir Khan, Censor Board

The Allahabad High Court today sought counter-affidavits from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Censor Board, Aamir Khan's production company and the song-writer who had penned the song 'DK Bose', allegedly containing obscene lyrics, in the recently-released movie Delhi Belly.

The order was passed by a Division Bench comprising Justice Imtiyaz Murtaza and Justice SS Tiwari on a PIL filed by Saumitra Dwivedi, a law student, who had sought a ban on the song 'DK Bose'.

Dwivedi claimed that abusive language has been used in the song and hence it be removed from the film and its broadcast otherwise be banned.

Produced by Aamir Khan Productions and featuring the actor's nephew Imran in the lead, Delhi Belly had hit the screens on July 1 amid controversies surrounding the impugned song as well as a number of other scenes in the movie.

The lyrics of the song have been penned by noted lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya.

The court sought the counter-affidavits within two weeks with the direction that the matter be listed for further hearing thereafter.
