Deepika Padukone's badminton rebellion

The actress decided to form her own girlie badminton gang on a movie set.

Deepika Padukone's badminton rebellion

Actor Deepika Padukone is teaching her pals what she knows best other than acting — badminton.

The Bollywood star had reportedly got a chance to represent her state at the National finals when she ditched her sporting career for modeling and acting.

Apparently, when Deepika was filming for her upcoming film (director David Dhawan’s son Rohit’s debut), she decided to form her own girl gang who could play badminton with her. That was also, according to her aides, a way of keeping fit when there was no exercise equipment around. This incident happened when the shooting was on in full swing in London.

“Akshay Kumar and John Abraham  (her co-stars) decided to play cricket when they were not shooting and they invited Deepika to join them too. But Deepika is not good at cricket and she didn’t want to play it. Interestingly, none of the girls (in the unit) wanted to play cricket with the boys. The boys didn’t care and went ahead with their game,” says a unit member.

When Deepika saw all the girls cheering for the boys, she decided to start a small rebellion of sorts on the sets.

“She ordered for badminton equipment on the sets and asked all the girls to join her. In course of time, her badminton endeavour got the better of cricket and everybody became more interested in playing her game. Deepika being a national level player beat Akshay and John hands down in the all the games,” the unit member ended.
