Cher slams fan on Twitter over 'Burlesque' Academy awards snub

Singer/actress Cher is said to have lost her cool when a fan commented on Twitter about her being upset that Burlesque had not been nominated for the 83rd Academy Awards.

The fan is said to have mocked Cher, 64, after it was announced that Burlesque had been overlooked in the Best Original Song category nominations.

"Cher Gripes about not getting nominated ... Would you like some cheese to go with that whine?!" News.com.au quoted the fan as writing.

The comment did not sit well with the singer, who is currently finishing up a three-year run at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

"Whatever your name is, it is with total disregard and complete lack of respect ... that I wish you goodnight and good fkn luck," she had fired back before signing off "xxxxCher!"

The song, You Haven't Seen the Last of Me, had won the Best Song prize at the Golden Globe Awards on January 16.
