Burglars break into Zsa Zsa Gabor’s home

Ailing actress Zsa Zsa Gabor’s California mansion was allegedly burglarised on the morning of February 27.

Her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, claims he was awoken by a loud sound in the middle of the night and found two men ransacking their sprawling Bel Air home, reports the Daily Express.

He told TMZ.com that he attempted to chase the intruders out with a baseball bat, but fell and hurt his hip as they made their escape.

According to Von Anhalt, the burglars got as far as the living room and he believes they made off with several of the couple's prized possessions, including paintings, a laptop, a camera and some statues.

Police were called to the scene to investigate the break-in.

Gabor, 94, has been recuperating at home since last month's surgery to amputate part of her leg.
