Bollywood’s still off my radar: Sonali Bendre

Actress and reality TV judge Sonali Bendre’s second innings on television has been even more successful than her first stint as a judge on another singing talent show and the actress’ visibly elated.

Not surprisingly, Sonali admits that she will miss it immensely when it goes off air soon after the grand finale. “I had so much fun on the show. It was simply amazing,” she says, adding that she would love to come back for the third season as well. But for now, she’s all set to take off for a long break. Where, she’s not ready to divulge, but reveals that she wants to take some time off and go back to being a full-time homemaker for the next few months. But while she admits that she’s keen to consider more TV offers after her break, Sonali’s as adamant about not wanting to return on the big screen any time soon.

“Bollywood’s still off my radar,” she says. “I have very clear-cut priorities for myself and home and my family tops it. Anything that’ll keep me away from both for days at a stretch is simply off my cards,” she adds, confessing that she is still inundated with several film offers.

Sonali however adds that though she’s not keen on taking up any project as an actor, she does go through several of them. “I do read a lot of scripts, and if they are interesting enough, I do consider them for our production house,” she says.

But doesn’t she miss the arclights and the adulation she recieved as a movie star?

“There was a time for that and I enjoyed it. But I am enjoying being a hands-on mum even more. Nothing gives me more happiness than being around my son. It was fun working with Shah Rukh (Khan) and Aamir (Khan), but I can’t say that I miss working with them. They are friends and we keep in touch and catch up at events or parties.”

Explaining further she adds, “I never fell into the star-trappings and never let my films decide my happiness quotient, so when I decided to quit, it wasn’t as if I had stopped being happy. I look back at my Bollywood career with fondness, not with regret. But for me family always comes first It is heartwarming to know that I’m still wanted, but no thanks, Bollywood’s not on my wanted list,” she ends with a smile.
