Bollywood couples get reeady for wedding season

DNA finds out what designers have in mind for the brides-to-be Kareena Kapoor and Genelia D’Souza for their D-day

Bollywood couples get reeady for wedding season

Preparations for two of the most awaited weddings of the year, Kareena Kapoor with Saif Ali Khan and Genelia D’Souza with Riteish Deshmukh are already on in full swing. The families have already decided on the dates and invites will soon be sent out in the industry.

Though the official date for Kareena and Saif’s wedding is yet to be revealed, sources say, the wedding will take place sometime in between March and April, right after their film Agent Vinod releases. Riteish and Genelia, on the other hand, have apparently fixed a date, with the wedding reported to be a grand four-day affair that will have the entire industry in attendance.

Sources close to them have revealed that the marriage date has been fixed for February 5th,  while the reception will be held the next day.  Before the D-day, the mehendi celebrations and sangeet ceremony will be hosted on Feb 3 and 4 respectively. The venue of the wedding is finalised and two suburban five-star hotels for the functions are heard to be booked.

Apparently designers Falguni and Shane Peacock, one of Genelia’s favourite designers,  might just be designing one of her wedding outfits. When contacted, Falguni refused to confirm the news but she was more than willing to talk about what she would like to design for Genelia.

Speaking to us she said, “I want to make it a dreamy affair —so it will be a mix of Indian and western attire, something that is not entirely traditional. You only get married once in real life, so it should be different and special from their on-screen weddings. I would like to design a long gown with a tail, with Indian embellishments. Taking a twist from the regular sarees, I would use a lot of gold and light pink with a hint of red or beige. It should be classy as well as dressy.”
