Bhimsen Joshi's health ‘stable’

The condition of legendary vocalist Bhimsen Joshi is 'stable' and he did not require dialysis since yesterday, his physician said today.

The health bulletin issued by Dr Atul Joshi, who is treating the octogenarian Bharat Ratna awardee, said, "Bhimsen Joshi did not require dialysis yesterday and today. His respiration is also better."

"We have been taking off his ventilator for two hours intermittently. His drowsy state is still a cause of concern. We are putting in our best effort for his recovery," he said.

Meanwhile, Srinivas Joshi, son of the eminent singer, has appealed to anxious fans to pray for his early recovery and refrain from visiting the hospital.

Bhimsen Joshi was hospitalised last week after he complained of breathlessness and vomiting. Following a kidney failure, he has been on a periodic dialysis.
