Being spiritual part of my personality, says actor Angad Hasija

Being spiritual is a part of my personality. I strongly believe that God is within each person irrespective of whether they accept it or not. Also which God you worship is not the issue, the point is that one must have the faith. Personally speaking, I am a follower of Sai Baba (of Shirdi). I was introduced to the faith by fellow actor. I am now a firm devotee and love travelling  to Shirdi whenever I can. I also get Lord Ganesha home every year since it makes me feel good.

I follow the spiritual philosophy of making at least two people happy on a daily basis. It makes me feel much better about myself. It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. I feel that one has to focus on one’s positive qualities and that it is essential to count one’s blessings. I do a daily meditation after my regular pooja.  I have my own prayers and interact with God in my own way. I ask for blessings and feel God doesn’t have an answering machine — but that He takes each call personally. I have realised whenever I want something from heart and pray for it, I get it. I had a life defining moment when I was praying to debut in a show  which had a different  character. God sent me an opportunity through Rajan Shahi who offered me the role of this mentally challenged character Alekh. That one role brought a turnaround in my career and I experienced fame, name and money. I prayed that my second show should be different from the first one and it happened.  I’m sure it was God’s will to arrange for the opportunities despite the cut throat competition in the television world.
