Film-maker Puri Jagannadh gets a surprise call from the Oscars archives' and can’t stop thinking about it ever since.

'Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap' script to be archived in Oscars

It’s been a dream run for Puri Jagannadh. Be it his successful stint as a director, especially for his Telugu films or even for his Bollywood debut with Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap, in which he directed his childhood idol, actor Amitabh Bachchan. And the winning streak continues, considering now that the script of Bbuddah… has been chosen to be a part of The Academy of Motion Pictures and Arts archives at Los Angeles.

Puri, who is thrilled, can’t hide his joy. “Imagine, first Mr Bachchan says yes and I get to make a film with him. Then, I get a call from the Oscars archives’ saying that they want the script. It is like a double whammy. I’m just so glad with the way things turned out,” says an elated Puri, adding, “And it was Big B who informed me about this news. He’s my idol and he’s my lucky charm as well now.”

But business continues as usual for the film-maker and he’s already busy with the pre-production of his next Telugu film, Businessman, starring Mahesh Babu and Kajal Aggarwal.

“Everything went off very well, but I can’t sit back and relax. Work has to go on and my next Telugu film, Businessman, is a mix of romance and action. It will be shot entirely in Mumbai,” informs Puri.

Quiz him on the cast and he says, “Mahesh and Kajal were obvious choices — both are very successful actors in the south and suit the roles perfectly. We intend to start shooting in a month’s time.” With the way things are, seems like the Hindi version of Businessman will not be canned before next year.

Abhsihek Bachchan, who will be playing the lead, will have to wait for the Telugu film to release before he starts shooting. Sources say that following the success of her last release Singham, Kajal might also be the lead for the Hindi film.
