Battle lines are drawn for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next

The filmmaker is already working towards protecting his next film from the piracy market

Battle lines are drawn for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for his perfectionist ways, sometimes to the extent of even obsessing over the minutest detail concerning his craft.

And if you thought that the debacle of Guzaarish has softened his approach, then sources insist that with each film, irrespective of its box office standing, Bhansali’s only gotten more obsessed with different aspects of his projects.

And right now, the director has channelised all his energies in trying to find ways to curb piracy of his films.

“It’s a menace almost every filmmaker tries to tackle. Aamir Khan (actor-turned-filmmaker) is known to take extreme measures when it comes to protecting his film from being targetted in the piracy market. And now Sanjay wants to take some equally drastic measures too,” says a source who is working with Sanjay on his upcoming film My Friend Pinto that also stars Kalki Koechlin and Prateik.

The film is set to release in about four to five months from now, but according to sources, Bhansali is already keeping a chunk of his time aside to talk to several people who he thinks can help him combat this problem.

“Mostly filmmakers think about this a week prior to the release of their film. But Sanjay wants to nip the menace in its bud. He’s busy with other aspects of the film and his television show, but he’s giving a lot of importance to anti-piracy too. After all, he treats every film of his like a part of himself. So it’s never too early for him,” explains the source.

Apparently both Koechlin and Prateik  too are trying their best to contribute towards curtailing piracy of the film. “They are primarily actors, so it’s not their lookout. But Kalki and Prateik are very passionate about their craft so they have made it known that they will help out in any way they can to stop piracy of their film,” says the source.
