B-town speaks up for Anna Hazare

Some actors express concern while others dole free gyaan regarding Hazare’s campaign against corruption. Only actor Aamir Khan seems to be doing a tad bit more than that.

B-town speaks up for Anna Hazare

Most Bollywood stars seem to have jumped at the opportunity to support Anna Hazare’s campaign for a corrup-free nation. Right from Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan to the younger crop like Shahid Kapur and Priyanka Chopra have started tweeting in support of Anna Hazare.

“Just read about Anna Hazare. It’s incredible to see the support he has received from across the country. Also what’s remarkable is the uprising of the youth of our country in support of Anna Hazare. I pledge my support to this cause,” Chopra tweeted.

However, Aamir is the only Bollywood star who seems to have done something concrete about the issue, by writing to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requesting him to pay “heed to the voice of Anna Hazare” and his fast-to-death against corruption.
Interestingly, some stars like Vivek Oberoi and Shahid have even started doling out gyaan about corruption and social causes alongwith ‘support Anna Hazare’ tweets.

“If corruption is our reality all of us are collectively responsible,” tweets Shahid Kapoor thanking Anna for ‘reminding’ him about that. Actress Sonakshi Sinha has gone a step ahead, placing Anna Hazare on the same pedestal as Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln and Mother Teresa! “It’s usually one person that makes a difference. Mahatma Gandhi, Dalai Lama, Abe Lincoln, Mother Teresa. Kudos Anna Hazare,” she said. According to sources, no Bollywood actor has done anything about the situation except for tweeting about it till now.
