Ashwin Naik on film?

 

Filmmaker Vinod Pandey is readying for the release of his latest film’Red Swastik’—a thriller with Menaka Chopra playing the serial killer. But simultaneously, he has also decided to work on his next venture ‘Don Biwi Aur Bodyguard’.

 

Incidentally, this will be his first action film after having made around eight woman-oriented films including ‘Ek Baar Phir’, ‘Yeh Nazdeekiyaan’, ‘Sach’ and ‘Sins’.

 

Vinod reveals, “My film ‘Don Biwi aur Bodyguard’ will have known stars unlike my earlier films which had newcomers. It will be an intense film.”

 

He continues, “My film has been inspired by truth. But I would not like to state that it has been inspired from a real life story. I do not want to be plagued by court cases from people who feel that I’ve made a film inspired from their lives.”

 

However,  sources close to Vinod reveal that his film is inspired by the real life story of the underworld don Ashwin Naik, who engineered the murder of his  wife Neeta because she had fallen in love with his bodyguard. Vinod asserts the contrary. He says that the film is inspired by his own serial ‘D-Line’, which he had made for  Doordarshan.  He adds, “‘Don Biwi aur Bodyguard’ boasts of a very powerful subject. Hence I am keen to cast a star like Sunjay Dutt who would fit the role to the T. My other alternatives would be Jackie Shroff or Suniel Shetty.”
