Ashok Saraf's 'Ek Dao Dhobi Pachhaad' to release on Jan 2

MUMBAI: Popular Marathi actor Ashok Saraf's first film as a producer, Ek Dao Dhobi Pachhaad, will hit theatres on January 2nd.

Produced under the banner of 'Shri Mangesh Films', the comedy flick is being distributed all over Maharashtra in 75 cinema halls.

"All of us have gone through a lot of strain in this year. We hope people would welcome the New Year with a smile on their face with our film," Saraf said.

The film is written by Saraf's actress wife Nivedita and directed by Satish Rajwade.

Rajwade said he has directed a film from the comedy genre for the first time in his career.

Saraf, who has acted in different Marathi plays, Hindi and Marathi films as well as television serials including the hugely popular Hum Paanch, said he "wanted to gift his fans a wholesome comedy which will make them forget their day-to-day tensions."

Nivedita, who is also the co-producer of Ek Dao Dhobi Pachhaad, said "no stone had been left unturned to make the film of a technically superior quality."
