Arti is PETA’s next brand ambassador

The buzz in society circles is that People for Ethical Treatment to Animals (PETA) is getting ready to announce their first ever non-Bollywood brand ambassador. After receiving support from the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham and Aditi Gowitrikar, PETA is now going to appoint society lady and self-confessed animal lover Arti Surendranath as their front face.

Anuradha Sawhney, chief functionary of PETA, said, "We don’t have brand ambassadors because PETA isn’t a brand," she said. "Besides, being an NGO we can’t afford to pay stars for endorsing our stand." Sawhney did admit that something with Surendranath is on the cards, but the details were being 'thrashed out.'
 
"Most animal rights activists come across as aggressive, which is very off putting," said Surendranath, even as she rushed to take a flight to Switzerland. "My aim would be to have a softer approach and instil a degree of compassion." Arti’s husband, Kailash Surendranath, is an ad-filmmaker.
