 Anushka Sharma talks about fashion

Actress Anushka Sharma has been in the news off late for her apparent drastic weight loss and though she vehemently denies all claims of having lost weight, she is not amused with the accusations being thrown at her. Amidst all this, she urges young girls to be happy with the way they look because that is what matters at the end of the day.

“Yes, I am an actor but I am in no way trying to sell anything to anyone. If anyone likes the way I am, the way I dress up, the way I talk, or like me for whatever reason, he/she is free to follow me, just because I am in the limelight. I do not wear clothes just because I want someone to follow me.” She continues in the same breath, “If you are happy the way you are, its fine. Do not be bothered by any peer pressure. I detest it.”

Anushka is also of the opinion, that weight as an issue shouldn’t ever be discussed at all, be it with actors or even otherwise.

“There are many actresses who comment on weight – who has lost, gained. Weight should not be discussed it, it should not be a topic of discussion at all.”Anushka also confesses that if it weren’t for her profession, she would care about her looks at all. Even now, she insists, she dresses like any other 22 year old, her age would.

“I am in no way responsible for the kind of clothes I wear and how I am going to be seen in the public eye. It is my responsibility to lead a correct life. How to look is not my responsibility. I am not a part of some superficial demands that people expect out of me. I do not want to be party to it. When I dress up, I go out, because I feel happy. 20 people can think I look like crap, I don’t care. I dress up because it makes me feel good. I do not dress up for anyone. I am very fortunate to have been not caught wearing something weird. I wear nothing besides torn jeans, loose tees. Casual, shabby and grunge – that is my style of dressing. If I feel like a girl, I will probably wear a lovely dress but that really depends on my mood.”
