Anil Kapoor's film takes a dig at Govinda

Anil Kapoor’s forthcoming film Shortkut: The Con is On is apparently taking a dig at actor Govinda who has been reported many times for throwing bizarre fits on the sets, for making people wait as he saunters in late and also for wearing loud clothes. Anil’s production has a character which is being essayed by Arshad Warsi that is supposedly a total carbon copy of Govinda.

A source from the film says, “When you think of Govinda, you think of comedy but his image has been tarnished as Govinda has been projected as someone who producers are cautious about. They think of him for coming late, wearing loud clothes and loads and loads of attitude. Rumours are doing the rounds that Arshad is doing a Govinda in the film.”

The insider adds, “Arshad has modelled his character of Raju on the actor Govinda. In the film, Raju plays a loud-mouthed actor who has no dress sense. The production company, however, doesn’t want to promote the film saying that they are imitating Govinda and has strictly requested everyone not to leak this information so as to avoid any controversy as Govinda might get upset.”

While production company officials remained unavailable for comment, Arshad confirmed that he is playing a loud character. “I play a sleazy character wanting to become a superstar but he has a very bad dressing sense — the styling is very loud with gaudy colours.”
