Anil Kapoor joins hands with Demi Moore against human trafficking

Actor Anil Kapoor has now joined up a cause dear to Hollywood diva Demi Moore — that of stopping human trafficking from across borders.

Demi, who has roped in her husband, actor Ashton Kutcher on the issue, has taken up the cause at an international level in the US, while Anil has decided to take it up in India.

"Demi is working on the same issue as I am. I have just started working on it, while Demi has been associated with the cause for a long time now. Yes, it is a great idea of forming a coalition with her and putting even more spotlight on the issue at hand," said Anil.

The actor, who had gone to a remote village called Bharatpur in North India, says that he was moved when he saw the problem of human trafficking first hand.

"I was moved with what I saw. There has to be more effort on the menace that is going on. The woman I spoke to, had become so immune to life's sorrows as she had gone through so much, that she forgot to smile. It's a face that I am not going to forget in my life," he says, recounting his experience while taking part in the documentary, Trapped By Tradition based on the issue.

The Hollywood power couple have formed their own foundation — The Demi and Ashton Foundation (DNA) and have been touring across the world to raise awareness on the issue. Sources say that the couple has India on their cards because they have Nepal on their itinerary for a conference, and plan to make a trip to New Delhi from there. It is also learned that Anil is likely to be the first to receive an invitation to partner with her in the exercise at the conference.

"We are already working together, but at different levels. She is doing it at a much bigger stage and doing a great job too. Both of us are drawing attention to the fact that there is an urgent need to act on the issue of trafficking," said Anil.
