Superstar Amitabh Bachchan who recently underwent an abdominal surgery is currently recuperating in the hospital. The 69-year-old actor who was admitted to the hospital last week, was supposed to be discharged after the surgery but he was advised to be kept under supervision, after he complained of acute abdominal pain. Though his health shows an upward swing, he is still under heavy medication and under strict hospital supervision.
"There seems to be a slight, very slight, upward push to the graph on recovery, though there is still an immense amount of work to be done and observed. The fever stayed within control and a few blood readings brought a gentle smile on the faces of the medical team," Bachchan wrote on his blog on Friday night.
The actor who had excused himself and asked for forgiveness on not being able to write detailed blog posts, further added, “A CT scan planned to detect another nagging problem has been put off for today (Feb 17) and shall be considered tomorrow. My intake has improved – from three sips of water per day to four sips!! That's like a couple of teaspoons full extra. Your prayers seem to be working,” he wrote.
The 69-year-old actor was supposed to undergo another surgery on Friday. However, the intervention was put off as Bachchan showed some signs of improvement (up until the time of going to press yesterday).
A source close to the family said that the actor was showing signs of recovery, “He is doing much better now. Another surgery was going to be performed but that has been put off for now, since he is showing signs of improvement. Currently he is under the strict supervision of his family and is recuperating.”
Son and daughter-in-law, Abhishek and Aishwarya along with wife, Jaya Bachchan have been stationed in the hospital since Amitabh has been admitted there. But guess who was the surprise visitor? None other than beti B. The newborn granddaughter paid him a visit at the hospital a couple of days back and Amitabh had even tweeted about the happiness it brought to him.
