After 'Tees Maar Khan', Farah Khan says she learnt from her failures

Unperturbed by the failure of her last outing Tees Maar Khan, choreographer-director Farah Khan admits the film did not reach much success as expected.

"I got awards for choreography of Tees Maar Khan but it does not balance out things. Tees Maar Khan did not reach the level of success that my previous two films had got. There was huge expectation from the film. But I don't have any regrets about the film," Khan told PTI in an interview.

"The audience expected more than what I delivered. I have learnt from my failures...It just helps you later. Every one goes through failure it is part and parcel of your life. I had a stumbling block but I am sure I have a stepping stone ahead," Khan said.

Tees Maar Khan, starring Akshay Kumar did not create magic at the box office but dance number Sheila ki Jawani, featuring Katrina Kaif, became very popular and topped the music charts.

Now, Khan is set to direct her fourth movie. "

I will direct a film. I am still working on it. The shooting will begin next year. Star cast has not been finalised," she said.

Meanwhile, the 46-year-old is also makes her acting debut opposite Boman Irani in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's sister Bela's film Shirin Farhad. In the past, the choreographer-director shared a love-hate relation.

"I don't say no to anything...after all you just get one life so why not do your best. When I was offered the film, I thought he (Sanjay) was pulling my leg," Khan said.

Khan has won the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award for Best Choreography for the Munni Badnam Hui song from superhit Salman-Sonakshi starrer Dabangg.

"It feels good that your work has been acknowledged. The item song trend did exist also right from Mehbooba Mehbooba of Sholay. It is not a new trend that I have started. Its just that two of my songs have become popular. I haven't seen this kind of phenomenon. May be because name of two women -'Munni' and 'Sheila' were there in the song thats why people liked it," Khan quipped.
