Abhishek Bachchan wants to change the trend with two releases in April

With big-budget films failing to create magic at the box office, actor Abhishek Bachchan, who has two back-to-back releases — Game and Dum Maro Dum — in April, intends to break the trend.

Earlier this year, Priyanka Chopra starrer Saat Khoon Maaf and Akshay Kumar's Patiala House bombed at the box office.

"It is always good to change the trend. It depends on film to film. Your budget should depend upon the kind of story you have. I have never understood when people say that the industry is going through a bad phase because of box office collection and then one film does well and we say that the industry has bounced back," Bachchan said.

Directed by debutant director Abhinay Deo, Game, is a murder mystery which will be released on April 1.

Rohan Sippy's Dum Maro Dum, an action thriller, hits cinema houses on April 22.

"We can't force you to see our films, we can just excite. Budgets do matter if it is insanely priced. There is no one here to just make money... we are here to make a quality film that everybody is proud of. I hope the films do well," he said.

Game is about four different people from different countries invited by a common acquaintance to a remote beautiful secluded island.

The four strangers have an interconnecting factor — a woman.

Dum Maro Dum revolves around the lives of six Indians who meet in Goa, and how their lives change forever after getting mixed up with drug mafia.

The 35-year-old actor ruled out the media reports that there are similarities between the two films. "The only similarity in both the films is that I am there in them, and April being the month of release. There is no other parallel thing at all. Game is a whodunit murder mystery and Dum Maro Dum an action thriller. So there is nothing similar. Both are different," Bachchan said.

Bachchan says he never plans about his films. "Lot of times when you hear a script, it inspires you and one just does it. I have never worked on strategising a particular genre — like doing a comedy first then action then something else. It just happened that I am doing a murder mystery first and then action thriller," Bachchan said.

"Besides these two films, I have Dhoom 3  which will release by the end of next year. But before that there will be three-four releases. These are all scripts that excited me and I am very happy to be part of them," the actor said.
