Abbas Tyrewala’s second feature film Jhootha Hi Sahee which is ready for release (it is no longer titled 1-800-Love), has landed the director in a bit of a domestic crisis. Abbas’ wife Pakhi, who plays the lead, is reportedly disappointed by the length of her role. Recently after a special screening of the film, Pakhi stormed out of the theatre. But not before confronting her visibly-crestfallen husband.
“Where am I in the film ?” she was heard asking Abbas loudly after the first 20 minutes of the film were over.
Says a member of the team that viewed the film. “It’s true. The film’s leading lady appears 30 minutes into the narration. And Pakhi was very upset.” When contacted Abbas said, “Well, Pakhi did have certain issues. But she can’t complain because she wrote the film. And if there’s more of John in the film than Pakhi, then only she’s to blame. By the way she recommended John for the film, and insisted that I sign him.”
John Abraham seems pretty gung-ho about the film. Says John, “Is Pakhi really unhappy about her role? She’s come out beautifully in the film. No one could’ve played the part the way she did.”
