Aamir Khan back on copyright panel

Actor Aamir Khan is back on the government panel on the Copyright Act amendment. A day after human resource development minister Kapil Sibal and other panel members persuaded Khan to continue in the committee, the actor withdrew his resignation and promised to contribute to the best of his abilities.

“I have given a lot of thought to your request to take back my resignation and be part of the committee. I have also read the letter that the other committee members have written to you reiterating their faith in me... I am aware that the amendment to the Copyright Act is an extremely important process, indeed historic. In the light of above I take back my resignation,” Khan said in a message to Sibal.

Khan had on Tuesday resigned from the 10-member committee set up by the human resource development ministry to suggest changes in the 53-year-old act, following an argument with lyricist Javed Akhtar.
