A record-setting national anthem!

Singer Roopkumar Rathod, along with his wife and singer Sonali Rathod, and Tushar Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi’s grand son) and several entertainment stars and celebrities will lead thousands in Aurangabad, driven by patriotic fervour and nationalistic pride, to create a Guinness World Record for the maximum number of people singing the national anthem in unison.

The event is scheduled to take place at 8 am this morning. Says Roopkumar, “Singing Jana Gana Mana to set a world record is a befitting and rousing way to commemorate its 100th year. Sonali and I are delighted and humbled that we will be part of the record-setting attempt. It will be our small tribute to the great composition of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.” The Jana Gana Mana was first sung at the Calcutta Session of the Indian National Congress on 27 December 1911.
