A lot to look forward to: Sayali Bhagat

The former Miss India and actress is excited about her upcoming movies with Arjun Sarja and Leander Paes.

A lot to look forward to: Sayali Bhagat

The scene around her is chaotic, with hairdressers running around pulling and ironing her hair. Sayali Bhagat, however, looked a picture of calm, ready to talk nineteen to the dozen.

The actress, who was in town to walk for designer Mohit Falod’s show at the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week, clearly misses her modelling days. “As a model you get to put on all those beautiful clothes and make them look so good on the ramp. I miss those days,” she candidly admits. While the actor would “love to do more of these fashion shows,” her busy Bollywood schedule doesn’t allow her enough freedom to sashay on the ramps. Not that she should be complaining.

Acting with Arjun Sarja
Fresh from her last film Ghost where she starred opposite Shiney Ahuja, Sayali is already working on two new films. The one that has her most excited is a movie very interestingly titled, This Weekend. “It is an action-thriller film directed by Tinnu Verma and has Arjun Sarja and Rajneesh Duggal,” she reveals.

Completely in the know of how big a star Arjun is down south, she adds excitedly, “It’s his first Bollywood film and I am more-than-happy that I am acting opposite a star like him.”

The action star’s advice to her in doing a full-fledged action role has been, “to relax and do it naturally.”

Going on about her role, the actress reveals the 40-day- long workshop where she trained in horse riding, free hand fights et al was exciting, “I had fun doing it all,” and it is this opportunity to do varied roles that has her happy that she pursued acting, after all. Rajdhani Express, the film that has been touted as Leander Paes’ debut is another film that has Sayali visibly thrilled. “It all seems like a coincidence that I am doing films that have all these biggies making their Bollywood debuts in,” she exults.

Dealing with controversies
As an upcoming actor with barely any controversy attached to her name, the only time Sayali’s name was pulled into one had to do with a guy who went about representing himself as her PR manager. The actor had, according to news reports filed an FIR with the Mumbai cyber police and had him arrested. Quiz her about the imbroglio and she remarks, “This guy is notorious for making false claims about his relationships with actresses. He had previously claimed that he was seeing an actress and another time he’d  claimed that he was a prince!” She shrugs the incident off saying, “We have to deal with crazy stalkers like these. It’s all part of the baggage that comes with being an actor.” Touché.
