It is Shahid Kapoor’s time to get flattered as iconic superstar Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Tej is set to star in the Telugu remake of Kaminey.

A source says: “The storyline is expected to be pretty much the same albeit with minor changes. Negotiations for the rights are on. South India also has an underbelly, sees major rifts between castes, so the plot of Kaminey fits brilliantly for a Telugu movie.

Chiranjeevi’s son is very keen to do the film and as soon as the rights issue and casting are sorted out, the movie will go on the floors.”

Ram is apparently in love with the movie. “Ram loved Shahid’s performance in the film. He is excited to play the two starkly different characters with speech defects. He is in love with the script. He is also suggesting names of who he thinks will suit the other characters.”

The South Indian movie might see Chiranjeevi star in it too. “If things go well, Chiranjeevi might play Bhope’s role. But it is also true that he is very busy with political commitments so we have to see if he gets excited enough to take some time out for acting,” the informer ends.
