A great story!

Filmmaker and bassist from the band Scribe, Srinivas Sunderrajan released his much-awaited second film Greater Elephants in the city recently. The music features tracks from popular folk rock band Swarathma’s debut album such as Yeshu, Allah Aur Krishna, Sur Mera, Ee Bhoomi, used to accentuate montage sequences featuring the characters. It marks the first time that the popular indie folk-rocker’s music is the soundtrack to a film.

The background score comprising mood-based sequences has been composed by two independent musicians, Siddarth Basrur (lead vocalist of metal band, Goddess Gagged) and Ayan De (Midicore Studios).

Srinivas says, “It is basically a story of a mahout who has lost his elephant in the city and enlists the help of many colourful characters (Dracula, a Lord Shiva impostor etc) to help him find the animal! Initially written as a ‘serious’ film, the involvement of writer, Omkar Sane, saw the addition of satirical elements making it more of an ‘existential black comedy.”

The film converges to a single point that attempts to say, ‘We all have a purpose here, and until we find what it is, we must keep looking.’ This introspective subject is presented with a humourous storyline, peppered with hilarious, rich-in-nuance dialogues.
